Lunch Time Activity

Break and lunchtimes are hives of activity in our school. On the days when the ‘active breaks’ aren’t on, the children use sports equipment, yard markings and the ‘active walkway’ to stay active and have fun!

During a survey with the parents in our school this year, we found that over 81% of parents thought that as a school we really encourage children to be active during break and lunchtimes.

Initiatives such as the ‘do your talking while you’re walking’ encourage all children to be active. Current guidelines state that children need 60 mins of activity each and every day to contribute to a healthy lifestyle. So being active during break and lunch really contribute to achieving this goal.

As many parents don’t see what happens during a typical lunchtime, we have taken a few photos to give a flavour of the wide range of physical activities that take place.
