Memorial – Anne McCarthy RIP

Today marks the first anniversary of our wonderful SNA, esteemed colleague and friend Anne McCarthy. Anne was a member of staff from September 2004 to June 2021, first as a secretary and then as an SNA.

Anne was dedicated and devoted to the children in her care and went above and beyond in her role. She is very fondly remembered in our heartbroken school community and we cherish very fond memories of her time in the school.

Today, a memorial was held at the school and a quiet space dedicated to her memory was unveiled. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all involved in planning, working on and bringing this quiet space into fruition, it is a very fitting testament to Anne.

Following a short ceremony officiated by Fr. Brendan Walsh, Mr Teddy O’Sullivan BOM, spoke on the positive impact and contribution Anne had on pupils in her care, the staff and the wider school community. Anne was praised for her devotion to and conscientious care she gave to the children of the school and she was fondly remembered by her colleagues. Áine Corridan spoke on behalf of the staff, acknowledging the tireless work she did in the school and her patience when dealing with the children in her charge.
