National Tree Day

To celebrate National Tree Day, on October 7th, First Class planted up two tree saplings. They planted the featured tree of 2021, the Wild Cherry (Crann Silíní Fiáin) and an Ash tree (Crann Fuinseoige). They planted them into pots and plan to plant them outside when they have established a little more.

We will be awaiting the beautiful Cherry blossoms in Spring times to come, hopefully, it will blossom before Rang 1 leave the school!

“Loveliest of trees, the cherry now. Is hung with bloom along the bough, And stands about the woodland ride. Wearing white for Eastertide.” – A. E. Housman.

Thank you to the Tree Council of Ireland for providing the Wild Cherry to our school.
