Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day (SID) is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users. Ballyduff N.S. participated in this event on February 11th.

Internet safety and awareness were taught in all classes using ‘Webwise’ safer internet lessons and resources. All children received Safer Internet Day wrist bands to acknowledge their participation in this event.

The Infant classes read and discussed a story called ‘Digiduck’. First and Second read and discussed a follow on story based on ‘Digiduck’. Third to Sixth watched and discussed a series of videos called the ‘HTML’ heros.

All classes participated in a colouring/poster making competition based on Internet Safety which will be entered in a national competition.

Parents were made aware of internet safety resources for parents, which are available in the parents’ section of our website or on www.webwise.ie .
