Our new Active School Committee for 2021/22 comprises of our 6th class pupils and teachers Ms. Buckley, Mr. Lyons and Ms. O’Connor, along with involvement from other school staff members and parents.
Due to the mitigation of the transfer of Covid 19, the work of our playground leaders and committee members will have to adapt for this year, but we look forward to working together to have a fun and an active school!
The playground leaders will begin their duties this week. Duties include bringing the goalposts in from the yard after lunch each day, ensuring all PE equipment is gathered up after lunchtime, keeping the PE press organised, as well as many more.
Hopefully, as restrictions are lifted we will be able to resume our ‘Active yard breaks’. These were a huge success in the past, where the playground leaders organised games and mentored the younger children at lunch times.
We plan to adapt and create as many possible opportunities for all our pupils to be active, while also adhering to current public health guidelines and keeping our entire school community safe.
